Marjorie Robinson Shares Her IVF Story!

Marjorie Robinson is a stay at home mom to a beautiful miracle daughter, Caroline. To celebrate her daughter’s first birthday, which was on Friday, October 26th - Marjorie and her family gave back to the NICU, since that was Caroline's first home. She was kind enough to share her journey. Her strength and courage are admirable.

After 7 IVF cycles, 4 miscarriages, our beautiful miracle was born at 31 weeks due to severe complications in my pregnancy where my liver and kidneys were failing, I delivered Caroline on October 26th, 2017 at Penn Health/Lancaster General Hospital Women’s and Babies. Caroline weighed 3 lbs 2 oz at birth and was in the NICU for 5 weeks and then AI DuPont Children’s for 2 more before coming home in December 17th; 1 week before her original due date. We, personally, owe a ton of gratitude to our doctors, neonatologists, nurses, staff, God, friend’s and family. One can not appreciate how much a preemie fights for their life until it is you who is faced with witnessing the strength and determination of a tiny warrior. Many many many families skip meals, to be able to be in the NICU as many hours as possible. Many, many families endure financial hardships as their child needs medical attention. Many mothers can not return back to work; others do and pray their child develops normal, hitting each milestone.

Then there are the miracle workers who care for your fragile yet strong child. These doctors and nurses work tirelessly to care for these miracles. I am hoping that we can give something back to each family on Caroline’s 1st Birthday; to show something good while sharing our love and support for a very important group of people. We've reached out to businesses that we feel align with our altruistic beliefs in giving back, asking for gift/s to donate to each family. We will graciously accept any donations.

Givesie was honored to apart of the basket of love to help the NICU families. Thank you for reaching out, Marjorie - and for sharing your beautiful story and giving others trying to start their own families so much courage and hope!

Happy 1st Birthday, Caroline!
